The next quarterly networking breakfast, part of the Business Pfirst Program hosted by the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) will be held on Thursday, July 14. The breakfast will focus on the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a driving force in economic development.

DEI is a unique and special characteristic of the City of Pflugerville. The panelists at the breakfast will cover a variety of DEI topics, including covering how to create inclusive communities where residents, entrepreneurs, and business owners feel valued, safe, and supported.

The breakfast will highlight the following speakers;

  • Tony DeLisi, Senor Manager, Ernst & Young LLP
  • Rudy Metayer, City Councilman, City of Pflugerville
  • Pat Epstein, Chair, Equity Commission, City of Pflugerville

The breakfast will also feature Special Guest: Patricia Bedford, owner of Suga's Cakery, a dessert trailer in Pflugerville that features premium cupcakes, cakes, and classic desserts, which are all made from scratch. Bedford is also the Vice President of the Pflugerville Black Business Builders, where she facilitates business education and networking opportunities for Black-owned businesses.

The breakfast begins at 7:15 a.m. with networking and a free breakfast, followed by the main program at 7:45 a.m., and concluding with a Q&A from 8:45 a.m. to  9 a.m. The event will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Pflugerville and Pflugerville Conference Center (Travis Room) at 16100 Impact Way in Pflugerville.

“The breakfast will focus on the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how we are building this into everything we do at the PCDC,” said Amy Madison, PCDC Executive Director. “The more we prioritize DEI, the more we can create a Pflugerville business community ready to embrace the challenges of the future and meet the needs of its current residents and business owners.”
