Advanced Economic Development Organization Accrediation

“I commend the PCDC board and staff for the hard work and continued focus on excellence that is mandatory to receive this distinction. The accreditation is not only a rare award from the IEDC, but also a positive nod from our community leaders, regional economic development partners and business associates who were part of the stringent assessment.”

The PCDC becomes only one of 68 economic development organizations to receive the accreditation internationally, and only one of 12 in Texas.

The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held professional standards. The program consists of two phases: a documentation review and an on-site visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, programs, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.

According to the IEDC, earning the AEDO accreditation distinguishes the PCDC among its economic development peers and shows not only future prospects but the community that the PCDC has attained a measure of excellence and assures that only the most responsible economic development takes place within the community.

Maintenance and review of the AEDO status is required every three years and is accomplished through continued documentation submission and/or on-site visits by a team of the AEDO subcommittee from IEDC to ensure best practices are maintained by accredited organizations.
