Toast of the Town
March 24, 2022
On March 24, the PCDC hosted its first in-person Business Pfirst since 2020 focusing on Pflugerville’s downtown revitalization and introducing the new Prost Alehouse brewery, which is a key part of the downtown renewal. City of Pflugerville representatives presented the latest information and plans for a revitalized downtown and plans for growth in the area, as well as shared changes that have happened in the last year and objectives for the coming year. In January, Site Selection Magazine featured Downtown East and the soon-to-open Prost Alehouse Brewery in a two-page profile giving center stage to the project.

During this special event, we will bring pfocus on the importance of DEI as a driving force in economic development and hear from panelists who will discuss how to create inclusive communities where residents, entrepreneurs, and business owners feel valued, safe, and supported.
How Megaprojects Impact Local Development

On October 4th, the PCDC hosted its first Business Pfirst event entitled "How Megaprojects Impact Local Government" we examined what megaprojects are and what a community needs to land a megaproject in their backyard. We spoke to industry experts in the field, Bob Rice, Ironwood Real Estate; Sam Owen, Stream Realty; and Ben Bufkin, Endeavor Real Estate, to get their perspective on how megaprojects can have a significant impact on local communities and transform the economy of a region.

Panelists Commissioner Aaron Demerson of Texas Workforce Commission, Tom Stellman of TIP Strategies, and Ed Latson of Austin Regional Manufacturers Association for provided a robust discussion on workforce trends, challenges, and innovation in the region.
