PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (February 28, 2022) — The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) recognized the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) as a recipient of its annual Economic Excellence award for 2021 at the TEDC’s 2022 Winter Conference hosted in Sugar Land, Texas, February 16-18, 2022.

“It is an honor for our board and staff to be recognized for the eighth year in a row by our economic development state-wide organization for PCDC’s continued focus on higher standards of excellence,” PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison said.  “It not only sets us apart but clearly demonstrates our commitment to responsible economic growth and development.”

This is the eighth consecutive year for the PCDC to receive the certificate, making PCDC one of only 57 Texas communities recognized out of a possible 875 eligible organizations and one of five in the Austin region. The Economic Excellence Recognition program provides recognition to economic development organizations that meet a desired threshold of professionalism.

The Economic Excellence Recognition program honors those organizations that achieve higher standards through the professional development and training of their governing board and staff. Other criteria considered for the recognition are certifications, professional memberships, and organizational effectiveness.

“The TEDC’s Economic Excellence Recognition program is one of the ways in which our organization honors the outstanding commitment to excellence of our communities and regions, their leaders, and their economic development professionals have toward the professionalization of their economic development efforts,” noted Carlton Schwab, President/CEO of the TEDC.”
