Pflugerville, Texas (December 4, 2024) — Following an extensive three-month nationwide search, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) Board of Directors proudly announces the appointment of Jerry W. Jones Jr. as Executive Director, effective February 3, 2025. The PCDC Board approved the decision during the Board's regular meeting on November 20, with subsequent authorization by the Pflugerville City Council on November 26.
The Board and the Council are confident that Jones will continue to drive the PCDC's success and development.

His commitment to community development through effective relationship building is well-aligned to support our strategic development goals for Pflugerville,” said PCDC Board President, Jeff Thompson. “Jerry brings a wealth of experience and skill to the position that I am excited to see in action, and I am very pleased to welcome him and his family as new members of our growing Pflugerville Pfamily.”
Jones brings to the PCDC more than a decade of experience in economic development and community engagement, having previously served as the Executive Director for the City of Richmond, Texas where he oversaw public-private partnerships and spearheaded initiatives to attract businesses and developers to the city.
In his new role, Jones will be responsible for growing Pflugerville’s local economy through business attraction and expansion efforts, local retention programs, workforce education initiatives, and marketing strategies.

Jones began his economic development career, serving as the project manager for Central Louisiana Business Incubator. He worked to secure grant funds to provide commercial kitchen access to small catering and food service businesses and participated in the alliance of business resources to enhance the entrepreneur ecosystem. Before moving to Texas, Jones served as Executive Director of the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District in Louisiana, where he revised the district strategic plan, and created the organization’s budget, the Develop North Baton Rouge Foundation, and the annual Baton Rouge North Economic Development Week.
In 2020, he joined the City of Richmond’s Development Corporation as the Economic Development Director. Jones spearheaded the comprehensive economic development strategic plan for economic development. Jones created programs to encourage networking among businesses and to provide resources such as Richmond Economic Development Week, Biannual Richmond’s Small Business Breakfast, and Coffee at the Block. Jones focused on entrepreneurship and launched the Richmond Youth Program for Entrepreneurs (RYPE) led by his staff, which trains youth on entrepreneurship from start to finish.
Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University and A&M College. He has completed the three-year Economic Development Institute program at Oklahoma University, obtained a True South Economic Development Certification from the University of Southern Mississippi, and holds an Authentic Leadership Certification from Harvard University.
