Pflugerville Economic Development Corporation is celebrating Economic Development Week, or EDW, from May 12 to 16 with a series of engaging events designed to support local businesses. EDW, established by the International Economic Development Council, spotlights the importance of economic development in local communities and across the globe.
Economic development is crucial in Pflugerville’s growth and encompasses various initiatives supporting long-term success. Through economic development efforts, existing businesses receive tailored support, new job opportunities are created, and the quality of life in the community is elevated.

Biz and Bites
Week-of activities kick off on Tuesday, May 13 with a Biz and Bites event in the Texas Room at the Typhoon Texas Waterpark,18500 Texas 130 Service Road. Networking contributes to success by helping business owners develop new connections or locate new customers, suppliers, potential partners, and like-minded professionals for idea-vetting and collaboration. Startup Support Center Digital Accelerator event
Digging deeper with startup ideas is the focus of a Thursday learning session at the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation at 3801 Helios Way #130. The session “From Idea to Impact,” will demonstrate how to use the free online Startup Support Center launched by PCDC in January. The Startup Support Center is a web-based business accelerator designed to provide creators with the resources required to streamline product or service development and delivery. Diverse content offerings in the support center address the needs of both first-time launchers and serial entrepreneurs. Tariff chat offers insights into changing policies
Economic Development Week ends on Friday with an in-depth discussion shedding light on shifting tariff policies in the United States. On May 16 from 7:45 to 9 a.m., experts will analyze the impact of tariffs on local businesses and the economy. Expect analysis of the latest changes, and an examination of the regional opportunities and challenges related to these policies. This fireside chat includes breakfast and takes place at Spare Time Texas Pflugerville at 1724 Farm to Market 685.
