New Officers Named for Pflugerville Community Development Corporation Board of Directors

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (Jan. 15, 2015)—The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) convened its first board meeting of the year Jan. 14 with a newly appointed PCDC Board of Directors and elected officers, which serve one-year terms, according to PCDC Interim Executive Director Amy Madison.

“We are fortunate that the Pflugerville City Council has appointed such talented, skilled citizens to the PCDC Board of Directors. I am honored to work with the new officers and board members as we take the organization to a new level in 2016,” Madison said.

The seven volunteer board members applied and were appointed to serve on the PCDC Board of Directors by the City of Pflugerville at a Nov. 17 Pflugerville City Council meeting. Two of the seven members, George Cudd and Doug Weiss, are returning board members. Weiss served as president of the board 2014-15, and has served for three terms totaling six years. Cudd previously served two years on the board. One board member, Wayne Cooper, was appointed as a representative of the Pflugerville City Council. He has served on the city council for eight and a half years.

Board members and officers elected at the Jan. 14 meeting are as follows:

The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation promotes Pflugerville as a desirable place for new businesses to operate. The organization also supports existing businesses by helping to address their needs. PCDC can provide funding for use as an incentive to businesses to begin doing business in Pflugerville. PCDC funds, which are 4B money generated from a half- cent of the city’s sales tax revenue, can also be used to construct needed infrastructure such as roads, utilities and drainage projects. Located 16 miles northeast of Austin and just south of Round Rock, Pflugerville is well-situated in Central Texas.
