Waterpark crews are busy readying the park that replaces Hawaiian Falls’ exit after missing payments owed to the city.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Construction is now under way at Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Pflugerville, city officials said Thursday.

“When the management team at Typhoon Texas promised swift changes to the Pflugerville waterpark, they weren’t kidding,” city officials began in a statement. “Just after signing an agreement with the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation and the City of Pflugerville, renovation of the waterpark already is under way—and ahead of schedule—as work crews begin preparing an area within the park for Typhoon Texas’ signature four-story Gully Washer children’s play area.”

Specifically, they speak of Gully Washer — a play land for children — that will feature seven different slides, more than 100 spray areas, splash-pad playground, and a massive 800-gallon water bucket that douses the entire play area.

“Children can come back again and again and enjoy a different experience every time,” Typhoon Texas co-owner Ray DeLaughter said.

DeLaughter said work crews also have begun updates to concession areas, restrooms, public spaces and landscaping. The team also has started the process of assessing the park’s food-and-beverage offerings.

Typhoon Texas, located at 18500 SH 130, is expected to open for its first summer season in May.

Typhoon Texas park operators previously announced it was hiring full-time management positions for its Pflugerville location. Full-time positions include director of operations, director of maintenance, controller, office manager, and three full-time sales managers responsible for booking corporate, church and school outings, company officials said. The positions offer salary levels based on experience with full benefits. Interested applicants can submit resumes to jobspf@typhoontexas.com.

Season Passes are now on sale for $69.99 per guest. Passes can be purchased at the waterpark’s website, www.TyphoonTexas.com. If you like you can follow Typhoon Texas at www.Facebook.com/TyphoonTexas and on Instagram and Twitter @TyphoonTexas.

City officials worked out a long-term lease agreement with Typhoon Texas, which replaces Hawaiian Falls which was forced to exit after defaulting on payments owed to the city.
