PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (Feb. 12, 2016)—After conducting a six-month nationwide search, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) Board of Directors convened Feb. 11 at a regular meeting and named Amy Madison PCDC Executive Director.

Madison joined the PCDC in January 2014 as assistant executive director and has served as interim executive director since July 2015.

“We have reached a maturity as an economic development organization and felt we needed to conduct a nationwide search for a leader with extensive skills and knowledge to lead our organization to continued growth and success,” said PCDC Board of Directors President Wayne Cooper. “What we found is that our best candidate with the most applicable experience and grit to get the job done was already serving in the role as interim executive director.”

During the past six months, she successfully recruited three companies—Medway Plastics, EOS of North America, and FinSpeed—creating 197 new jobs in Pflugerville.

“I appreciate the board of directors’ confidence in me as a proven economic development professional. I believe they reviewed the many successes I have achieved in the short time I served as interim, and the fact that I also have a full pipeline,” Madison said. “I look forward to attracting many more promising businesses to Pflugerville, and to supporting and growing the great companies we already have here.”

Madison previously served six years as CEO of the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP,) a quasi-public economic development organization serving Hays-Caldwell counties including seven cities. Madison founded the GSMP by successfully steering a $4 million campaign to implement a five-year strategic economic development plan.

She began her career in Okla. following completion of a bachelor’s degree from Phillips University. In Shawnee, Madison served as business development director for Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech School providing training, consulting and business support for more than 60 existing- expanding companies in a three-county area. She earned a master’s degree from Oklahoma University and moved to Texas, joining the City of Schertz as economic development director for seven years. During her tenure, Madison helped usher in a 50-year supply of water, established a new industrial park and her recruiting efforts resulted in a 77 percent increase in city valuations.

Madison is a graduate of the three-year Economic Development Institute program at Oklahoma University. She is a Certified Economic Development Professional (CEcD), a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) and a Certified Public Manager (CPM). She serves on the Awards Committee for the International Economic Development Council and is a member of TeamTexas, Texas One and Texas Economic Development Council.
