Trade & Industry Development Magazine announced the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation has been awarded the 2021 Community Impact Award for its work on the recruitment of the Amazon Bulk Fulfillment Center to the city of Pflugerville.

On July 15, 2020, amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Amazon project, dubbed "Project Charm," was approved by the Pflugerville City Council and had a unanimous vote during the PCDC Special Board meeting on July 14. 

"We are proud that Amazon has chosen Pflugerville for a distribution center increasing employment opportunities while contributing $250 million to the tax base and set the stage for continued growth along the Pecan Street and SH 130 corridor. The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation has provided support to both Amazon and the City of Pflugerville with the necessary intersection improvements at FM 685 and Pecan Street to keep everyone moving. This managed growth is an investment into our city and we welcome Amazon to our community.—Victor Gonzales, Mayor of Pflugerville"

The new Amazon facility, the largest project in Pflugerville history, and will create 1,000 new jobs for the region and begin operations on or before December 2022.
