Pflugerville Community Development Corporation outlines new development projects in city since 2016

PCDC presents to City Council last night
In a joint work session with the city of Pflugerville, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation outlined where it has been and where it is going in the next year.
Pflugerville Community Development Corporation Executive Director Amy Madison said she welcomed input from City Council members on their strategic plan moving forward.
“It’s a living, breathing document,” Madison said at Tuesday night’s meeting. “We welcome changes or updates the council would like to make to the plan.”
Along with restructuring the water park debt for what is now operated as Typhoon Texas—formerly Hawaiian Falls, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation developed and continued several initiatives to address its main goal—to bring jobs to Pflugerville.
Madison discussed the corporation’s $51.8 million in obligations and outline goals for the next year and beyond. Incentive guidelines for new businesses were discussed, along with a snapshot of expenses for the past five years.
In 2016, Pflugerville Community Development Corporation landed 10 projects, which accounted for 16.28 acres of development or 204,500 square feet as well as 379 jobs with average wages of $51,300. 2016 projects included:
- Platinum
- Gymnastics
- Tracking Point
- EOS, Tescom
- Best Western Plus
- Gruene Environmental
- Medway Plastics
- SISU
- Pure Spoon
- Kompan
So far in 2017, nine projects with agreements include the development of 51.37 acres or 760,803 square feet as well as 760 jobs with average wages of $59,028. The 2017 list so far includes:
- Accent
- MW Builders
- Flooring Services phases 1 and 2
- Typhoon Texas
- Courtyard Marriott
- Cortec
- Community Impact Newspaper Printing
- Costco
Future projects outlined by Madison include:
- Phase 3 of Flooring Services with a 240,000-square-foot facility
- Fairfield Inn with 108 rooms with 27,000 square feet
- Community Impact Newspaper additional expansion with a 60,000-square-foot building on 4.42 acres
The three projects include 21.75 acres, 327,000 square feet of development and 220 or more jobs. Madison said the properties were sold at market price without further incentives.
