Flooring Services Southwest Breaks Ground on $20 Million Campus For Relocation, Expansion to Pflugerville

Press Release

Flooring Services Southwest expected to bring 200 jobs to 130 Commerce Center.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (June 5, 2017)—The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) announced today that Flooring Services Southwest, a subsidiary of FS Builder Resources, is breaking ground today on a new, $20 million campus at 130 Commerce Center in Pflugerville. The company will bring 140 jobs with expansion to 200 jobs in the next five years, according to PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison.

The state-of-the-art facility, which will be located at the corner of Helios Way and Impact Way, will include several FS Builder Resources companies, including: Flooring Services Southwest, Interior Builders Supply (IBS) Lighting, Design Gallery, Stone Resources, Premier Stair and FS Blinds. The company is relocating from two Austin locations on Long Vista Drive and Metric Boulevard.

Phase one is a 187,000-square-foot facility that includes office space, the first regional design and lighting gallery in the state, and a large warehouse for materials necessary in single family new construction services. Phase two includes another 73,000-square-foot facility for stone countertop fabrication. The general contractor on the 260,000-square–foot total expansion is Structure Tone Southwest in Austin.

“The team at Flooring Services Southwest wanted their own custom-designed facility to meet their customer’s needs,” Madison said. “They searched other communities, but found Pflugerville to offer exactly what they required for their business—affordable, shovel-ready land located right on the highway for great access and high visibility, and a talented, capable workforce to help grow the company and provide exemplary services for builders.”

Flooring Services Southwest closed on a 30-acre tract of land purchased from the PCDC in November 2016. Phase one and two of the construction project will be built on a 15-acre tract at 130 Commerce Center, a mixed-use development located at the southwest corner of SH 130 and Pecan Street. The remaining 15-acre tract will be used for further expansion.

“Historically, we have always taken into consideration the predictions of expanded growth—both in the community in which our buildings would reside, and within our own company. We needed a location that would offer us the opportunity to recruit talent, keep us ahead of the curve and coincide with the efficiencies of our business. Knowing that there is no other operation quite like ours in the area for our segment of the industry, Pflugerville fit the bill,” Flooring Services Southwest CEO Harry Crosby said. “I would like to thank the City of Pflugerville for their enthusiasm, for making this decision so easy, and for welcoming us with open arms.”

The Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce will host a groundbreaking ceremony onsite today at 4 p.m.
