Looking to summer, new Typhoon Texas park to open
As winter finally brings its bite to Texas, the folks who run a popular water park have completed plans to open a new one.
The old Hawaiian Falls in Pflugerville will reopen at Typhoon Texas Water Park come May. The same people run the Typhoon Texas Water Park in Katy.
Co-owner Ray Delaughter told KEYE-TV that the Plfugerville location was too good an opportunity not to jump on.
Hawaiin Falls has fallen into debt and is nearly $400,000 behind on loan payments.
Delaughter said Typhoon Texas will have upgraded food, a play structure for children and a toddler pad.
Delaughter and city officials hope the new ownership and work on the facility can turn the tide for the business.
