Pflugerville Awarded by International Economic Development Council for Ad Campaign
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas—The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) today announced that it was awarded by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for a 2012 creative advertising campaign created by the PCDC’s advertising agency of record, Austin-based Aha Communications.
The PCDC was presented with a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award at an Oct. 8 awards ceremony held during the IEDC annual conference held Oct. 6-9 in Philadelphia, Penn. The IEDC recognized the PCDC for its 2012 project in the category of Paid Ad Campaign for communities with populations of 25,000-200,000.
“The Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the PCDC as being one of the leading organizations in the industry for innovation, creativity and successful strategies,” said IEDC chair, Paul Krutko. “These awards are meant to honor the organizations and individuals who are dedicated to making a positive change in their communities. This organization uses creative solutions and inventive ideas, and offers other regions a wonderful example from which to learn and benefit. The award represents an acknowledgment and appreciation for the PCDC’s dedication to continuous growth, as well as improving the industry overall.”
The ad campaign was meant to convey that Pflugerville—and more specifically, 130 Commerce Center, a new mixed-use development—has everything a business needs to be successful.
The business objective supported by the ad campaign was to lease or sell property within 130 Commerce Center. The PCDC selected this ad campaign’s concept and graphical direction because it best conveyed the following key messages:
- 130 Commerce Center is one of the only mixed-use developments currently under construction in Central Texas.
- 130 Commerce Center is a new, unique, multi-use industrial park with office, warehouse/distribution, and retail space available to lease or purchase.
- 130 Commerce Center provides everything a business needs to be successful, including sustainable energy sources, access to major transportation routes, access to a qualified workforce, proximity to major markets and an established infrastructure.
The focus of the PCDC is to establish Pflugerville as a regional employment center by actively pursuing opportunities in the areas of business retention, expansion and attraction by actively enabling, supporting and promoting economic and community development.
IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban and rural communities.
