IT Provider Thin-ology Expands, Relocates To 130 Commerce Center in Pflugerville
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas—The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) today announced Thin-nology, Inc., a virtual office solutions provider, will locate a new 8,600-square-foot corporate headquarters office space and data center on a 1-acre tract at the 130 Commerce Center. The development is located at the southwest corner of SH 130 and Pecan Street in Pflugerville.
Thin-nology was founded in the Austin area in 2004 and provides outsourced technology solutions to help businesses of all sizes reduce operational costs, decrease network downtime and increase security. The company has provided “cloud computing” solutions since before the term was even coined.
“Pflugerville offers everything that data centers are looking for: redundant power, low risk of disaster, affordable real estate and a deregulated energy market for cheaper electricity costs,” PCDC Executive Director Floyd Akers said. “With 130 Commerce Center, Pflugerville is now also able to offer companies such as Thin-nology a location where they can build-to-suit or lease space in a pro-business Central Texas community.”
With the relocation, Thin-nology will consolidate Pflugerville-based executive and sales offices and a South Austin data center under one roof. The new corporate headquarters building will also enable the company to expand services to offer colocation, which means offering server space and bandwidth for rent to customers.
“Thin-nology serves a variety of sizes and types of business customers, but to date the mid-sized business has really been our sweet spot. We will soon expand our services to include offerings for the very small, one- or two-person companies, too,” Thin-nology President Kathryn Grona said. “Outsourcing IT is really where the industry is moving, so Thin-nology is positioned for growth and long-term success. We wanted to stay in Central Texas because of the economy, and we chose Pflugerville because it is so pro-business.”
The PCDC and Pflugerville City Council approved a $70,000 incentive package based on job retention and expansion. The PCDC will reimburse Thin-nology for development fees, construction costs and moving expenses.
Also, as part of the agreement, Thin-nology committed to completing construction within 15 months and within three years will hire at least 10 additional employees at an average annual salary of $60,000 plus medical insurance benefits. Today, the company has six full-time employees and two contractors.
Thin-nology closed on the 1-acre tract of land purchased from the PCDC this month. KW Commercial Director Denise Kindred and Associate Aaron Reule represented Thin-nology on the purchase of the land.
